    is this good enough?

When factoring your canopy load do you try to figure out how much gear and clothes that you are jumping with? The reason I am asking is that I am about to start this crazy sport and would like some advice. I am 210 and found a 280 or do I need to jump a 310. Also all you gear heads is there anything that you would like to tell me about the best velcro container to start with?

Wing loading is traditionally calculated as exit weight divided by canopy area. When in doubt, go big.

    Yo,

I am also 210 and I jump a 280 Mojo. I love it and am able to make it slow down considerably when needed. You are right on the edge of needing a 310 though, and had it been available to me at the time (I bought a used rig) I may have gone for the 310. Now though, my next rig will be a 280, so my recommendation is if you can buy new, go with the 310 until you get some experience, then decide if you want to downsize to the 280. Just my 2cents, talk to your BASE instructor. c-ya!!!!

Bigger is always better in BASE. I would get the 310.

Ask the MFG though. I am sure they will say the same.

I'd have to agree, Bigger is better in the long run. I am 145lbs and jump a 232, I just fell in love with a 260!!!!!! If your looking for a great rig I'm a gravity sports dealer and would be more than happy to set you up. E-mail me at kidbase@hotmail.com Jeff Gladish
