    Riser Release

I'm back home and thought you might be intrested in the first hand information on my unintentional raiser release.

    The story:

I have been jumping my Perigee Pro-Ace280 for a year, put 70 jumps in it.
Never had any problem with it, always worked very well.
I put my trust in CR’s products and still think they are one of the best Base gear producer.

    The facts:
I checked the cutaway cables before putting the canopy in the container as ALWAYS, they were OK.
The hided cutaway handle were in it’s place, I had to cutaway the other riser because of the heli rescue.

After checking the video (camera was on my helmet, made a nice shot -) ) had a 360 linetwist and the right riser went away immediately after the canopy inflated.
I landed third inflated canopy, hit the bottom of the wall pretty hard (Brento) and broke my both legs very hard and was sliding down on the cliff 30 m and fortunately stuck.
In my and my friends opinion probably two things could happen:
The cable came out when the risers hit my camera or I took it out when I grabbed the risers during the opening. Just thoughts, I am waiting for CR’s opinion. Probably will never know what happened in real.
BUT, anything happened I will never ever jump with the same installation cause I almost died this time.
I will send my rig back to CR to investigate but will ask them to make some correction on it.

I am in the hospital now waiting for the operation, will have complicated surgery.
Take care U guys, thanks for the good wishes Stefan, Seven, Feral, Kaboca, Robert and others…
    CIGANYZ never die

    RE: Riser Release

Yeah, I have a personal sexy nurse, sitting next to my bed all the time, giving me everything I need... Love her...

    Back to the case.
Even it the cable was pulled out by the camera holder (the camera was mounted on the left side of the helmet, and the released riser was the right one), or my hand (I don't remember having the risers in my hand before it released), it shouldn't have happened. In my oppinion if the cable comes out during I grab the risers, it is NOT WORKING CORRECTLY. It is a BASE rig, so it is supposed to deliver 100% under any circumstances.
We noticed that that free length of the cutaway cable between the end of the cable-protector tunnel thing and the 3-ring closing loop is too long compared to a normal skydiving rig and other BASE rigs. Unfortunatelly there is enough roon for your finger to go under the cable and possibly pull it off.
Anyway, let's wait for CR's opinion.

C-ya, thanks for the good wishes.

    hi hannes,
    No need to be nervous!!
I agree w Csaber that the reason for releise was either camera holder or hand!!
