    Norway this summer

I'm planning to finally go to the wonderful big walls of Norway this summer. As I have never been there, it would be really nice to get in contact with some local jumpers beforehand. I'm also looking for some info on the sites. Of course I have checked basekjerag.com, but I would really like to also go to the other, less known big walls. Any info is appreciated and if there are some locals who want to come fly with me that would be fantastic.
To start with: when would be the best time? Who is coming when? I'm thinking about end of july/beginning of august.

    RE: Norway this summer

    hi obi.

would be glad to show you around the good parts of norway. if your into some hiking there are unbelievable walls around. kjerag is only one, and definetly far from the biggest. how much time do you have to spend for the really big ones? unless you're in really good shape, it's no more than one jump a day, but i guess it's worth it. anyway, its not easy to find the right places based on description, you'd better have someone show you. i'm not gonna be in norway for late july/erly august, but if you have an oppurtunity later i can help. will be back in norway around the aug.20. or maybe before juli 10....? otherwise you might be able to hook up with someone at kjerag. good luck! enjoy your stay!

Great :-) I'm quite flexible when it comes to travel dates, I just would like to come during a time where there's a fair chance for good weather, I hear that's quite an issue up there.

I will probably be in Romsdalen in late july/early august. You should have fairly good chances of experiencing good weather around that time. Romsdalen offers possibillities you'll never find elsewhere in the world. If you are interested in joining us for some days, please let me know....

Of course I'm interested, I just checked the map for Romsdalen and found a region called More og Romsdal - is that the same?

    RE: Norway this summer

it's the same. more og romsdal is the name of the county. romsdalen is the valley. andalsnes is the name of the town in romsdalen. to get to andalsnes you can either drive or take the train from oslo (or wherever you are), or you can catch a flight to molde and then take a boat. it's about 6 hours drive from oslo. a little bit more by train. getting from stavanger to andalsnes overland is a hazzle. a plane is probably a better option. if you have a car in andalsnes there's more than ten bigwalls within your reach. so renting one might be a good idea.

    play safe
