    Upcoming jump...

i have a 4 day weekend coming up. (fri thru mon)
Also a 4 day weekend the next week....

I have talked with 2 people, 1 of which is a base jumper. that says the jump is very doable (not much BUST factor, even though its on post).

He wasnt a base jumper at the time when he was stationed there but he said he had climbed it numerous times and got drunk up on the top.

There is an exit off post nearby so gettaway will be easy. I figure we could scope it out in the daytime. Plan the approach, jump, and exit Plans and execute it very easily, then go drink multiple beers afterwards....

PS. I have all the nessisary stickers and ID to get on post without question.
PS: I also know that I am a new BASE jumper and only have 3 jumps, but would like to organize and execute the jump with others.

    RE: Upcoming jump...

I know ther area in question and Highly recommend you make other plans for your time off. DO NOT DO IT. There are multiple things one must consider when thinking of a jump. Aside from, gear conditions , exits and the bust factor one must way the risk VS reward. Now consider this.... 1- your current occupation, and if not yours then those that would go with you on the jump(I know the locals). 2-Getting busted on a guarded federal instalation never turns out good. 3- This could be the most important consideration, because it effects more jumpers than just those on the jump.
For the most part base jumping isn't allowed in the military, but it's also like the don't ask don't tell policy. People don't care because there not forced to do anything about it. Now if yo get bust then people will be forced to act, that just the way the military is. A friend made a completely legal jump in his off time and was injured, his supervisor found out and tried to burn him and now there is a regulation in place banning any base jumping for US forces serving in Europe, and that was just 4 days after the accident, so imagine what would happen if you would get busted on a illegal jump inside a base. Sometimes we must think big picture for everyone. Thats just a few reasons not to do the jump, without even getting into your abilities as a new jumper. There are plenty of other objects in the area, infact I might even be around. If so maybe you could come with us. This wasn't ment to bash but to enlighten.
