    lauterbrunnen valley, switzerland.

    hay there,

im off to lauterbrunnen valley in a week to meet some experienced euro base jumpers to take in the local cliffs. does anyone have any advice on anything local that you have discovered that might help make my trip safer / more fun? anything from a cheap place to sleep and cheap beers would be helpful.

    cheers,

    simo...

Stop and bask in the most beautiful jumping spot in the world. But remember how fragile it really is!

    Gil,
have you got a personal e-mail and/or a mobile phone?
Because we (the Italian crew) would like to pay a visit to Switzerland, sometime in the near future, and we would like to jump with the locals...

    hay there,

do you know the prices of a bed for the night? also how much does it cost the ride the train to the top?

im just trying to do a budget before i leave so that i dont get caught with my pants down on the top of a mountain in the middle of switzerland.

    cheers,

    Hey,

Mick, long time you have not been in Lauterbrunnen...you would know that by now the grass is fully covered with snow.

Rather than stay off the grass, stop at the Horner pub. There is a board (next to a large picture of a base jump) with a map which defines landing areas pretty accurately. Some fields are definitely to be avoided, but some others will still welcome you landing. Also, if I am correct the procedures before a jump i.e. phone of air glacier is on there as well.

To get all information about where to stay and prices visit:

Practice safe base jumping...last year accidents are still very fresh in the mind of the locals, which is not for the better.
