Good man. When I saw the post's title I was worried that another Canuck had gone over to the dark side. After we lost Coop (he went in - right up to his nutsack and hasn't been seen since) I thought that this might have been another loss.
Crwper, when I said that you needed a little more reserve I didn't intend for you to give up BASE and revert to skydiving. Put your neon pink jumpsuit back in the closet and start wearing a real man's rig again.
Spence, it'll do you good to move to the US. The PDX crew can even teach you to pack.
Also, you Canadians are too hard on yourselves...Drinking Labatt's and Ginger ale while clubbing baby fur seals to death just means you're wierd. I wouldn't go so far as to call you defects.
Cya in Moab bro'. Try to lure Crwper there...A can of tuna should provide the right scent to attract him.
Skinsta.
PS Coop - Bisley made me post this.

Hey Spence,
You telling people I stopped jumping because of a girl, or what?
Skin -- might see you in Moab.
I haven't been jumping much recently for a couple of reasons. First is that I need to put as much energy as possible into work for a while. This is a temporary condition.
Second is that I'm a fairly introspective person, and I've found myself increasingly wondering why I jump off of stuff. I found myself feeling guilty on windless nights when I chose to do something other than jump, and that just isn't right. As BASE jumpers, I think we assume that our minds are more open than those of "ordinary mortals", just because we can step off that edge. In fact, I think sometimes we are just as closed-minded, only our minds are closed around something a little different.
So anyway, my idea was to let go of BASE jumping temporarily, so that I could understand what it meant to me in the first place... So that I could jump not compulsively, but because I would rather be jumping in that moment, than anything else.
Hopefully this clears some things up and, again, maybe I'll see you in Moab.
Michael
Hope so bro'.
If not, I'll catch you in Calgary sometime over the winter.
