WEB USERS PAY TRIBUTE TO MURDERED JORDANIAN PILOT
Web users the world over have been reacting to the death of Jordanian pilot Muath al-Kasaesbeh on Tuesday February 3, murdered by the Islamic State terror group. The tragic news has generated widespread commentary on social media.
Many have shared their sorrow and outrage, paying tribute to the soldier who was captured by IS late December 2014. They have been posting under the #Rest in Peace Muath and #I am Muath hashtags, extending their sympathy to the 26 year old fighter pilot`s friends and family and condemning the terrorist organization for the cowardly and barbaric murder.
Social networkers have also been remembering the Jordanian pilot as a hero. The people who posted these messages are hailing his bravery. Others have been saying that Muath al-Kasaesbeh gave his life trying to protect his fellow citizens, and his sacrifice should never be forgotten.
Some web users have also been sharing photos of Muath al- Kasaesbeh, taken before he was captured. They say it’s important to hold on to positive images of the pilot, and are urging others on social media not to post or share images of him awaiting his death, as this is exactly what the terrorist group wants. And there are also growing calls to boycott the video of his savage killing, again to avoid spreading Islamic State propaganda.
