Réalisée dans le trou bleu de Dean, aux Bahamas (là où Guillaume Néry a tourné son film «Basejump»), cette performance a duré 4 min 10 s (temps total : descente et remontée).
En trois fois
Une première descente est organisée pour consolider son précédent record ; il descend à 96 mètres (il détenait le record à 95 mètres), puis il tente les 100 mètres, mais une erreur de protocole le fait échouer. Le lendemain, à la troisième descente, William Trubridge atteint 101 mètres et devient le premier homme à descendre au delà de 100 mètres sans aide matérielle.
