I blame the Bonfire for emasculating the masses.

But you bring up a good point...I've been wondering for 20 years now and have no answer. Perhaps too many regulations and not enough Darwin.

What an ignorant statement! Blame the 'manufacturers' that place the cutter housing on top of the pilot chute or careless riggers leaving steel shots in the reserve tray!

Skydiving might be lame, but going to the DZ to piss-off all the skygods is just as much fun as jumping off those flying machines!

Nah, I'd rather temper with the software to give you a reserve @ 10K, much more elegant that way. I consider it training for the single system.
