Time after time, I keep seeing newbies wearing nothing but a rig and an EGO!

let me tell you that if you take a look, and open your eyes... All the people that have lasted in this sport, WEAR FUCKING PADS!!!!!!

I am tired of seeing 5 jump wonders YES, EVEN AT TF BRIDGE!!!!!! not wearing pads. you can still crack your skull and shatter your knee caps!

I do not want to carry your fat ass out of the canyon!

i dont believe in armor.
whenever i base jump, i do it in broad day light, in front of many people, wearing no pads but instead an XL cup/jock strap under skin tight, paint on pants, so the ladies think i have a massive package........

On a more serious note, Mick did you notice
that the guy I was training was wearing helmet,
boots, and knee pads? He did on every jump.

Since I made him wear them I did also on all
but 1 of my 23 jumps, the one I did not was
for the rollover right before the big-way but
I had a beer in my BOC so it was all good.;)

I always wear a helmet now no matter what the jump. I crashed into a grassy field once after it had been raining for 3 straight days and it rocked my world. If i didnt have a concussion i was as close as you can without actually having one. I am convinced the super squishy ground and my helmet saved me. There was a nice Joe sized divot in the ground and I had a mud and grass mohawk on my helmet where chunks of the ground were sticking out of the vents. Shit happens fast and can happen on any object, as we consider this an easy one and it is still one of my favs. (270ft FF with grassy field to land.)

For better or for worse, I never wear pads when I jump (although I will toss on some knee pads if jumping over rocks or asphalt).
