I live in b.c. canada and their is only one bridge to do and it's 2 hours away and it's a 1 second delay and the next base is a tower in idaho and then perrine which is a 12 hour drive..Yes it sucks...but i just found this while doing a hopeless search on google but i found drop near my house..30 minutes..anyways do you think it's possible as i'm pretty sceptical but once i go scope it out is when i'll no for shure so here's the picture..

Hi RSX,
can you drop me an email? I can tell you more about those cliffs and let you know who to get in touch with.
Moderator; I'm not sure what the site-naming rules are for this website, but just to be cautionary could you remove the specific link to the other thread and replace it with "Okanagon Cliff" or something?
Thanks,
Jaap Suter

I put the pic from that website there as an attachment. The link to all that other detailed info is removed. Hows that?

Did someone other than the originator edit the posting?

Jaap, Canadian jumper, felt the link was offering to much info on this location, along the lines of the no site naming principle and requested the link be removed. I removed the link and a few words that said something like here is the link. I think I also accidently removed the [/size][/b] at the end for the bold, but I can fix that again right now.
rsx_tech,
Are you aware of the reason we, as BASE jumpers, try to not publish info that can help people find an exit point? Mainly it is because someone that is not qualified to be jumping may use such info to get to the exit point and kill themselves with a rig on. Your post is great and asking these questions is the right thing to do, so feel free to post all the questions you have. I hope you understand why I edited out the link upon request of another jumper from Canada. I took the time to put the picture there for you so that people could still take a look at the cliff you are asking about.

Thanks Johnny and Mick.
I'm already exchanging emails with rsx_tech at the moment, so it's all good.

I did some couch surveying.
I started cropping the picture(the one Jaap posted on DZ.com because of the angle) and based on the number of pixels(I know it is not a linear thing but just to estimate). The tree at the bottom of the slab is 25 pixels high and the cliff is 213 pixels high. The exit point is 8.52 times the height of the tree. But it looks like the overhanging bit is about 2.7 times the height of the tree.
It is all about how tall the tree is.
Kris.

Uhm, the picture I posted on DZ.com is from a completely different cliff.
But thanks anyway... :)

Well this one is 6.1 times the height of the tree :).

I think it no more than 200ft no less than 150ft because i'm familair with those trees and the one that i would measure with would be 6-10ft.I no that doesn't give approximate but it's something.

It does get jumped but it is a very technical cliff and really small/crappy LZ! It is in a BC provincial protected area (illegal to jump) and access to and out of involves private property owned by folks who don't like/want BASE jumpers there. Only the local jumper knows how to get in and out in an ethical fashion.
What kind of experience do you have? Your estimates on tree/cliff height is way off which is why I am asking.
