Hello!
First off, let me express my great respect and admiration for all you basejumpers! You are truly amazing individuals...
So anyway, I have recently become fascinated with basejumping and skydiving. Right now, I am in the "learn everything I can" phase. Im going to schedule a tandem jump in the next week or so... it will either scare the crap outta me (unlikely), or fuel my desire to fly like so many have only dreamed of.
While reading up on acquiring a skydiving A license, I found that the New Zealand Skydiving School offers a Diploma in Commercial Skydiving. It is a 32 week course that includes 200 jumps.

As I see it, this would give me a solid start to build upon. I could then continue skydiving and refining my skills, as I go. Eventually, find a basejumping mentor and/or take a basejumping course from one of the BASE equipment manifacturers.
So there it is. Does this sound like a decent plan? Any comments, suggestions, rants or tirades would be much appreciated!
Thanks!
