I had some grafts in a heel along with screws and plates on a tib/fib deal. I was in plaster for almost a year. All these years later, right now as I write this, my legs still hurt.

I know it blows. Hang in there Brother . . .

I broke a fib. I was told it's a pretty useless bone so they never set it. One year later it has healed sticking right into the muscle on my leg. Lots-O-fun! No graft though. Good luck.

I had a bust tib and fib and major dislocation of my ankle and 6 months into injury I had to have bone grafts, realignment and replating and pinning. The best thing is that it works and it heals quick, the bad thing is that it hurts like hell mainly from the bone graft doner site (mine was from my hip). Just make sure you drink lots of water, take calcium supplements, stop smoking and drinking and try and be as healthy as possible to enable to graft to take. I had a friend who had major grafts in his leg and arm after smashing himself into a fence post swooping his VX79, he returned to jumping 1 year after injury.

I bust myself up 13th May 2004 and have just returned to jumping this week making 2 jumps. I have problems with my leg and ankle, and always will - it will never be right again. At the moment I am choosing my jumps carfully, have a decent ankle support and a pair of hanwags and will PLF if i feel I am coming in to land a bit too fast. It will be a while until I feel ready for concrete landings.

I feel for you dude, the time off injured was one of the darkest times of my life, keep on smiling and just look forward to the day you WILL return - it will be one of the best days of your life. Just try and keep positive, its a tough time and in the end what does not kill you can only make you stronger.

Be cool.
