Hi

My names Bryony. I'm new on this site and I was wondering if anyone could please help me. I've just booked a first BASE jumpers course with Apex BASE in Idaho and I'm having a real problem sorting out insurance. My travel insurance won't cover it and I've been told that it could cost up to £20,000 just for a broken leg. I've tried everything I can think of including Specialist Risk Insurance, Extreme Sports Insurance and Patriot Extreme and they all exclude it. I can get shot, kidnapped and blown up but I can't go BASE jumping - it's driving me crazy!! Please can anyone tell me what I should do.

Thanks
Bryony

Have a look on the UK BASE board, I assume by your use of "£" you are a UKer. (link on my sig at the bottom)

There was a discussion about insurance on there, but i cant remember what the outcome was and I cant be arsed to look for it! :) Although a friend of mine did his FJC back in January and he only had skydive insurance and took the risk I beleive, perhaps you could PM him and ask what he did - on the UK board or DeZed dot com his name is evilivan.

Also if you are a UKer, perhaps you may want to post on the UK board to hook up with some jumpers in your area for your return back from the FJC if you have not already done so and have a group already in mind who will look after you on your return to the wet windy lowlands that is the UK.

Hope this helps, and enjoy the FJC - before you first jump, just take a moment to look around and feel the beauty of the place you are in.

Where are you located? As Mac points out, the options vary dramatically depending on your home. I think that it's noticeably harder to get insurance if you live in a country with a national health care system. In private insurance countries like the U.S., our private health insurance will often cover your injuries no matter where or how they were obtained (sometimes for an additional fee, and there's always other insurance companies to choose from).

If you are in the U.S., I can send you some info about the insurance policies I have, which might help you find similar things.

Hi Everyone

I posted a thread on this site a while back asking for help with insurance. Just to let you know I found a fantastic deal with IHI TRAVEL. They cover pretty much everywhere in the world and don't exclude any hazardous sports! You can apply for a policy that covers you annually or single trip cover. Its also pretty cheap, I'm paying $78 for 5 days for up to $300 000 medical exspenses. The website is www.ihi.com (http://www.ihi.com).

Nursing Agency Backoffice Software (http://www.startanursestaffingagency.com/bundledsoftware.html) is a Backoffice Software made to make your tasks easier and your operation more progressive and productive.
* Eliminates data entry and possible for errors with complete, integrated front and back office functionality;
* With a single point of entry, information will be designated orderly from sales activities, applicant tracking, job search and placement to managing job orders, payroll, invoicing, and reporting. This is broad staffing recruiting software.
* Access to information at your fingertips all people (with rights you control) have real time access to the data they need.

It could access information to your people you control provided that they have real time access to the data they need.

If you have satisfied all the above requirements and task, this means you are already in business. One of the most time consuming part of a nursing agency are the backend office work. This includes client setup, employee screening, client /employee matching, keeping track of time records for employees and organizing the billing system.
There are several software solutions to fit individual needs such as QuickBooks and Peachtree, but this type of application software are geared towards invoicing and managing your bank accounts. They are what you would call universal all purpose software. To remain competitive and be able to manage your manpower efficiently and effectively, it is recommended that you automate your backend solutions.

Our Nursing Agency Custom Solutions Software (NACSS) (http://www.startanursestaffingagency.com/bundledsoftware.html) was design for this specific purpose.

The software features 5 main modules.
Client - In this module you would enter all of your clients pertinent contact information. You will also specify client preferred payment method and financial information.

Employee - The employee module has more data collection than the client module. Aside from entering employee contact information, here you will input all employee skills information which covers just about every skill in the nursing field. The module also has the ability to attach Photo ID and resume with employee file. Because some states require you to conduct FCRA compliant background checks, the employee module has integrated an instant background check sub-module which connects you instantly with our partnered site to provide you Instant FCRA Compliant background checks which automatically converts to a PDF file and attached to your employees personal file. The final data collected in the Employee module is availability. Employee will identify hours he or she is able to work and in what days.
Job Order - The job order module is where you will enter all job request sent to you via phone, fax or email. Data being collected in this module are Client ID, number of nurses needed, hours needed, days need, length of time need, reporting supervisor, special skills required if needed, client pay per hour and employee pay per hour. Once these data have been entered into this module, NACSS will look for the perfect employee to match client needs. Once an employee has been assigned to a job order, their status is marked unavailable so that they are not included in the auto matching process. Once a match is found, the matching employee file will open ready for calling to offer the vacancy. Once they accept, you mark the job order as filled. If they dont accept the position, NACSS will look for the next candidate most suited for the job until the job order is filled.
Daily Time Record - In the daily time record you will enter all your employees signed timesheet.
Billing & Payroll - Once a Job Order is fulfilled and satisfied, NACSS will automatically send the completed job order into the billing module, where it sits until its maturity. Maturity is the time when the open invoices are billable, the billing period is set in the Client Module whether Net 15, 30 or 45 days. Once a job order is matured, it will auto-generate a billing invoice ready for your mailing. If your client has authorized you for auto-pay you can have NACSS auto-print a bank draft which you can in turn be deposited without having to wait for clients payment to arrive. In the payroll portion of this module, you can at anytime print the employee week to date or month to date or past hours worked. Payroll automatically calculates the amount being paid out to employee per job order. The DTR can then be sent to a 3rd party payroll processing company such as ADP.

Nursing Agency Custom Solutions Software (http://www.startanursestaffingagency.com/bundledsoftware.html) is a unique backend solutions software that will keep your business running in a straight track. A must have for every nursing agency!

Oh, Make sure you get the 24 hour emergency # for their office not the regular one. that way you won't have to pay the hospital out of pocket if you get hurt. I was re embursed but I could have saved myself the trouble.
