Everything that Andreas has stated correlates to the info I have received during my investigation after the unfortunate accident. I wish someone could have warned me before. I gave the police this information and the media who I don`t normally deal with, because of the atrociousness of Fonzie`s misguidance.
The changes we have made to discourage this again is to require the jumper to pack in front of an instructor to show that he has a sound and practical knowledge of the equipment, if not, we will pack for him or do a supplemental packing course along with the beginner course. I`m still looking for better ideas,
A cliff is not the Ideal place to train student exits, tracking,cc, and accuracy. Our beginner course has only produced 2 non-life threatening injuries and no fatalites or even heli rescues in the 4 seasons that that it has been in effect. I will try to get a count on the no of students to give it some relevance.

about the Smellveggan cliff strikes;
All were somewhat experienced BASErs, None were skilled at subterminal tracking, I saw video of the last 2 and both did sub 8 sec delays coupled along with insufficient tracks after the word was out that 8 sec were the min Delay,We can only supply the info, we can`t enforce it when the jumper is in FF. one of the off headings was pilotchute induced by what I beleived was an assymetrical inflation or assembly. in all of these incidents, Jumpers landed near the injured and or hiked up with first aid equipment/stretcher and personell and in one case a RN was the first on the scene via Parachute. Kudos to all of you.
Feel free to comment, or drop me a line but I have to get back to Lysebotn and I will not have access there to the NET.
take care,

Was this incident a packing issue, or a "Pull" issue?

what do you want to know?

i was on the inbound ferry and watched him impact the cliff and then fly away with 2 canopies out. it was obviuosly not a survivable scenario.
the ferry captain announced over the p.a. system," there has now been another accident at kjerag, you can read about it in the paper in the morning". the captain had significant emotin in his voice and was obviously saddened by what we saw.

later that night 4 of us went up on the wall to attempt a body retrieval, the blitz bags mentioned in an earlier post would have enabled us to reach and then safely descend with the body. as it was reaching the body was possible, but getting back down the wet slope was black death without rappelling equipment. we decided to back off and let the professional S&R people do their job. their job = a retrieval utilizing a helicopter.

several people were at the lz and saw the entire freefall from exit to impact. i will leave it to them to describe his attempted flight.

if you are asking if he pulled and then had a malfunction or off-heading opening..........................
the answer is
the pc was not deployed prior to impact.
this "fact" was ascertained by;
1)no one on top or at the lz saw a pc deployment
and
2)there was no bodily tissue or fluids on the pc or bridle.

stay safe
be smart, we can all learn something on every jump.
i know it was a learning experience for me while there.

Yo Michele,
I saw your friend who lied about his experirence explode at ca 250kmh, I saw body parts in the cloud of blood as he exploded.
because you, he and fonzie decided to lie, you avoided the advice from some of the most experienced instructors in the world.
nuff,He wanted to save money and he did. you are lucky that it was not you who exploded. do you still want to lie and say you have 5 basejumps from brento? Let me come to your house and kick your butt in front of your parents. I loveyou bro, But you are stupid to hang with you/and fonzies lies.Admitt it, you guys had no base jumps, the clever (?) plan you had killed your best friend, fonzie the stupid man helped you murder your best friend,
I warned you before. Fess up. (confess) I will discredit you if you donīt. you have a responsibility for your friends death. You Lied.

Dear Tracy,
thanks for your answer.
I'm not a lier and Fonzie too; we made 5 jumps on Brento during the two weeks before we started from Italy.
Believe me, it's the truth.
Nobody knows of these jumps because what we were doing was forbidden. That's all.
Anyway Fonzie doesn't have any responsability on what happened because we all were aware of the risk of what we decided to do.
I remember that you warned me before, and I thatk you for this.
In that moment everyone had decided for his own life.
Valentino was conscious of what he was doing, we talked about this during the all monrning while your assistant was doing the breefing.
At the and I don't think of having any responsability for the death of my best friend, I only planned the holiday in Lyseboth.
Me too I love you bro and I thank you for all you done for us before and after that terrible experience.
I only want from you one more thing:
explane me exacly what happened to Valentino, what do you think has happened to him, I need to know this and his family too.
I remember you talked to me, but i was shocked (and I don't understand english very well, sorry) and I didn't understand all what you said to me.
Please answer me: I want to know if my friend lost consciousness or had a heart-attack, what happened after he jumped?, explain to me exactly what you had seen; he tried to open the parascute or not?, or maybe he tried and he could'nt?.
I wait for you answer.
Thank you for all.
See you soon.
Bye.

Michele, there is absolutely no way that you could have made 5 Brento jumps without my knowing. this is my home base site. if you want to lie, thats you, you have my privat email address, why donīt you write me privately? You have in your power to say what you did was wrong, but if you deny it you will kill more Valentinos.

>Valentino was conscious of what he
>was doing,
Do you mean that he knew he was lying to avoid paying for some of the best base instruction in the universe? And if he WAS your best friend, why did you allow this?

>Believe me, it's the truth.
>Nobody knows of these jumps because
>what we were doing was

Fock off, I am a member of the governmental commision. you would only have to pay for your rescue (assuming you were still alive)

>Anyway Fonzie doesn't have any responsability
>on what happened because we

Fock off#2
He is the loser who was so nice to tell you how to avoid getting trained by the worlds best instructors.

>explane me exacly what happened to
>Valentino, what do you think
>has happened to him, I
>need to know this and
>his family too.
I would like to explain all to his family and point the blame at Fonzie and myself.
Valentino did the same exact exit failure that UlaStina Ostberg did in 1997. Which I would call "full extension front looping". (FEFL) You and he could have learned this had you taken the course. you do not have the time to recover stability in this mode before impact without unstable deployment.
Valentino Exited in a diving head down exit and his body was totally extended when he was in a multiple front loop scenario causing him to lack the ability to compensate aerodynamically or acrobatically. One canīt have 5 BASE jumps and fock off like this. This is a first timer mistake, not a 5 timer one.Take my course and you will see. as long as you wish to lie, you will be killing others. get real. And since you wish to hang on the publico forum, why did you admit lying about your experience to the Norge media and police? and one last thing. when did you do your jumps at brento, give me the dates. you know you are lying as I do.
