Pilot chutes

I recently got a 32" BASE pilot chute from a BASE manufacturer. It has no load tapes on the canopy unlike the larger sizes. I presume that this is because the area of cloth in question can take the terminal openings expected of it. However would there be any disadvantage in having load tapes for extra safety. I recently saw footage of a blown out PC off Kjierag and someone pointed out the lack of load tapes (granted this PC was 36").
