Could anybody with experience getting 3rd party liability insurance for a BASE demo, preferably (but not necessarily) with a North American company, please PM me. Thanks!

Avery would be the man to talk to on this issue. Hopefully, he has info that can be shared with everyone. In the past, insurance has been one of those "protected" things and people in the know aren't always willing to give you info, unless you make payment through them.

As for Bridge Day, the current (and past) organizers have had trouble finding insurance to protect the whuffos in the LZ. Even the NPS tried to get insurance, just to verify that we couldn't, and they were also turned down. Fortunately, you typically don't need to protect yourself against the jumpers, as they have hopefully signed a waiver already.

Good luck.

Does private mail through the Board go to a person's email? I tried sending a message that way, but haven't heard back. Since this is the second time this has happened to me, I'm wondering if I'm misinterpreting the system...

If you click on the far left of the four links (the pencil-paper-envelope one) it sends an email to the registered email address. If you use the second link from the left (the paper-squiggles one) it sends a private message on the board system.
