Well, amazingly enough, Dennis is nearing the end of his 90 day incarceration…80 days down, 10 more & counting…YA HOO! I can barely stand the anticipation now! Yes, looks like he’s going to serve ALL 90 days… no “good time” so that means his release date is still January 5th, unless the b-------s decide to have a heart after all and surprise us – can you believe that? Such a heinous, dangerous criminal my husband is...a true danger to society and all that...but nevermind, it’s almost over!
Can’t say that the time flew by as everyone tried to assure me it would, but so much has happened these past three months that I really haven’t had the time to sit around and mope too much or feel too sorry for myself, because unfortunately for all of us, (the BASE community and yes, the skydiving community too), much of it has been so tragic; which made the time apart from Dennis all that much more difficult in many ways, but also made me realize just how fortunate Dennis & I are…we’ve had to endure this time apart, but at least we do still have each other...Rest in Peace Jan, Frank, Dan, Larry and too many other friends/acquaintances...And peace to you Tom and Ricci….
It is still Christmas day, albeit late (and by the time I actually get this posted – probably the 26th, oh well…), so... I want to take a minute and again THANK EVERYONE SO VERY MUCH for all of your support to Dennis & I these past months...your support of emails to me; letters to Dennis and the books you sent him; your letters to the “officials”; your phone calls; your financial assistance; and just your thoughts...you are truly our family, my brothers and sisters...you have made this time so much easier for both of us to get through. The loss of so many friends this past summer was bad enough, but the loss of our dear friend and sister Jan was particularly hard for Dennis as he had to endure it alone and was unable to attend her memorial. Your letters made the difference.
I got to visit with Dennis tonight (via video visit, as it has been for the entire 3 months). He sends his very heartfelt thanks and his best wishes to all for a Merry X-Mas and a Happy New Year! He made four requests of me for when he finally gets released: (1) first off, he wants to go have a decent meal (I guess he didn’t like the food in there – LOL!); (2) he wants to go get a decent haircut; (3) he wants...well, you know...some nooky http://www.baselogic.com/forum/images/wink.gif; and (4) as he’s been locked up with 64 other guys in one small dorm type room, he CRAVES some peace & quiet, so...as much as he CAN’T WAIT to hear from and talk to EVERYBODY, he has asked that you please give him/us just a few days before you start calling! LOL! Hell, no worries there...I’m taking the phone off the hook – cuz we got some business to take care of! }~>
Anyway, Merry X-mas and Happy New Year to ALL!!
Peace, Love & Many, Many Blue Skies………Brenda
