Wondering if my insurance plan through work covers me for BASE.
One of the exclusions is "riding as a passenger or otherwise in any vehicle or device for aerial navigation, other than provided under 'air travel'"
I suppose this would describe a parachute. Thoughts?

Your policy most likely states that they will not pay if the accident occurs during a crime event. Although BASE is not a crime. Access to some sites is. Remember they will try there best to find a reason not to pay. It would not hurt to ask your insurance company directly. Post if you find anything.

It turns out that now ALL parachuting activities are covered by this policy. Apparently there was a court case involving the insurance company for refusing to pay in a "parachuting related incident". The wording on the exclusion was considered "too vague" by the judge, and the carrier was ordered to pay out.
In addition, my group policy (fortunately) does not use commital of a crime as an exclusion but I have certainly seen it in most other policies.
(Not that I plan on my wife seeing the 200 grand anyway!)
