from now on and until further notice, the spot "Staubbach" (waterfall) is closed. NO BASE-JUMPS ARE ALLOWED anymore !!!
Too many accidents this weekend and in the last months, the people in the valley are very upset and we need to give them some rest.
Please spread the word...

What kind of accidents have occurred lately? Perhaps we can learn what not to do in the future.
Staubbach is such a beautiful jump.....it's a shame to see it in jeopardy.
Thanks for spreading the word. How can we help you?

I'm glad that it's "only" the Staubbach Exits.

Yes, three cliffstrikes in the last two days are a lot. A lucky one at Staubbach wasn't hurt that's why not much knows it.

What is it exactly what they are upset about?
I know they live basically from the tourists. So it may not be a very good publicity if they become famous from base jumping incidents. It may also not attract the tourists if their kids see a cliffstike.
Is the landing in high grass still an issue?
I hope if we know more about the problems we can discuss it and find solution (more people --> synergy of ideas) or at least try to avoid it.
E.g. I heared, people jumped from staubbach while there was a burial down at the graveyard. So if more people knows they have to pay attention at it, it can be avoided more easily.
It would simply be a #### major bummer if this is getting to be a bigger problem.

Should be the whole valley for a moment!
Many people are upset and scared that this will get closed. We want protect our "spots" in future! Concered I am about the image of Base in our Country. We cannot show up at other spots right now without people looking strange at us! There are other spots in our country, which will suffer from the bad image of Lauterbrunnen.
> Is the landing in high grass still an issue?
It is always, cutting the fields of grass for the farmers after some people walked on it is a pain in the a... The grass gets stuck in the machine and the have to remove it by hand before they can continue... It can be compared to packing the canopy in heavy wind...
> It may also not attract the tourists if their kids see a cliffstike.
Not only the tourists, also a lot of base-tourists are attracted.
What we like here are Base-Jumpers, who think and think safe, respect farmers and other locals and maybe respect other jumpers by asking for safety advises!!
- Please, don't come with 100 friends, you may not be welcome anymore
- Commercial Base are not tolerated
- Don't jump Staubbach
- be safe!!!

Is there any news on the health of those jumpers who had the accidents?
