Hello --
Does anyone out there have any experience jumping 26' LoPos in a subterminal BASE environment? I'm thinking about picking some up for use off a popular 486ft object, but am wondering if they are suitable in that height range. All rounds can have inconsistent opening speeds in a low speed environment, but some more than others.
I have 37 jumps on a Tektite, which has opened consistently fast, but am wondering if I could expect a similar opening speed on a 26'LoPo? Any other concerns?
Thanks,
Bryan

I've been using a 26' Lopo for years....love it. I know others who are using Lopo's also. I've not jumped a Tektite, but from what I've seen they are all similar with regards to opening characteristics.
I'd buy those Lopo's. Heck, I could even use another one if you have any extras!
Cya.
PS. Mick, I can't login using IE!!!!!!!! Had to use Netscape to reply to this thread?????!!!!!

I like jumping Rounds in the summer when it is hot. You do a jump and you get to go smimming and cool off. Not Bad
I have jumped the Lo-Po 26 ft. It works fine if you are not getting to crazy and way-dirty LOW.
The Lo-Po 26 ft. will sometimes give a- little bit- of a inconsistent snivel. Compared to the Pioneer Rounds.
>the fastest opening round out there is H20. 19 ft.
I think it was based on the Preserve 4 round.
I have not jumped the Tektite but I have seen it open several times Fast, low and consistent in Idaho.
>Next in line to, FAST or the Same to the H20 is. - Pioneer K-XX 20 ft.
You can also get a Pioneer Super 22.
>In my opinion these are the fastest most consistent opening water rounds. Based on my jumping only the Rounds I have listed. That is all I have seen or jumped, so that is all I know.
>I still own and jump, two Pioneer K-XX and, 1 Super 22
>Note- I counted only 42 Round water jumps in log-book.
>Note- The rounds I have jumped, were jumped Hand-Held.
I only jump Hand-Held when I am going over 4 second delays in the water at Idaho. Impact is 5.8 sec.
I don't do the line stretch, barely inflated, splash down. I do enjoy a good 2-sec. canopy ride.

Has anyone jumped Phantoms off objects?
Virtually all my round jumps are with Phantoms (two different 22's a 24 and a 26). I've found that the 22's open pretty well, but things start to get much less consistent with the bigger canopies. I've noticed that the BASE specific rounds (H20 and Tektite) are quite small (19', I think). Does anyone know if opening was a consideration in selecting size (or was it just a case of "what's the smallest that can land safely in water? " ) ?
Anyway, my only hesitation on the LoPo 26's would be a worry about opening consistency (referencing my experiences with the Phantom 26). For delays less than four? Game on...Bryan, can you pick me up some, too?
