I tried to ask this in dz.com but well, you can't name sites for the non base jumpers even though people know Moab is legal, oh well rules are rules and I forgot a few times that you can't name Moab legal sites and I guess that's my fault because I didn't think before I wrote the Q? I'm a dumbass! I asked over there because there is alot more activity lately and I was trying to bring attention to Moab for BASE and the DZ.
I saw a few Moab site names on blinc so I guess I can ask what is your favorite Jump in Moab? Let me know if I can ask this here?
If so my favorite jump is __________________. I'll tell you after I get the ok from the head honcho.

Still, I think that BLiNC is a much more appropriate place to have this kind of conversation than DZ.com.

My favorite is the one you can do slider up, right over the road.

As far as mentioning LEGAL sites in Moab, what's the big fuss? If I say the Jug-or-Not is my favorite site, do you think 27 newbies are gonna be able to find that site? I think the boys at dz.com think this, as they recently deleted Clint's post that was similar to this one.

Moab is legal. And maybe 0.05% of all the readers on this forum even really know where the "Jimmy" jump is anyway.

If we can't say "Potash", then we shouldn't be saying "Moab" either.

Too much censorship.

Pretty soon we'll have to say that Bridge Day is held on that "rusty 876 footer somewhere on the East Coast". Gimme a break people....!!!

I really think that this kind of discussion (i.e. experienced jumpers discussing sites) is the kind of thing that ought to stay on BLiNC.

Didn't we just have a long discussion about how it would be better to move these kinds of conversations back here? One in which several people came forward declaring their loyalty to posting experienced jumper issues and conversations on this board, rather than that one?

My favorite jump in Moab is the "Sweet Spot" at Mineral Bottom. It makes me remember Earl Redfern, flying for the SlickRock Air Guides he buzzed our group by 50' on the walk out there. Good question Clit, I mean Clint!!!!

A toss-up between Cincinnati Zoo (cause I opened it)and Punk Rock (which we named for Skypunk).

Both can be found in the canyon that goes "boing".

See what happens when you write the L and the I close together when you write your name with capitals?

Sorry Clint, Hank made me do that.

Too much censorship indeed. My gag about the contact lenses got removed.

What's up with that? It was funny. Well, when you're as drunk as I was when I wrote it it's funny.

I'm on board with you on this one, Jason. Common sense could be used a bit more, it seems...

I've done a whole 2 jumps in Moab, Mary's Gash and Tombstone. I liked Tombstone! The beautiful hike, the sweet exit, and landing on the road near the parking lot...cold beer waiting, lots of camera geeks, and dogs wagging their happy tails.

I look forward to checking out the other sites...and I have some of Lee's ashes that will go off Punk Rock with me the first time I jump it.

c'ya!

I'm gonna have to say Jug-or-Not. Truly unique. You have to earn that one.

Yeah it's sort of frustrating at times, but I've sort of made a game of referring to sites in such a way that experienced jumpers will know but everybody else will be going... "Huh"?

I've only done 5 of the Moab jumps, so I don't have much to compare. Every one has it's own personality and I really can't say there are any weren't a blast to do. I agree with K that Tomstone has a beautiful hike & a great fun factor on the jump. Mary's Gash has a place in my heart because it was my first E. I really enjoyed Roasted Turkey... until I crash landed in a tree. :-P Great visuals on the jump though.

The Turkey Boogie two weeks ago was my first time to Moab and I had a blast! My favorite jump there was The Crown at Tombstone. A group of us went there for the last jump on Saturday. I got just as much juice getting up to the exit point as I did jumping from it.

My palms are sweating as I type.. LOL

I'm looking forward to going back to Moab next May.

I'd have to aggree with Zoomee. Control Tower has a nice hike in and out and jumping off that point is hella-cool. We flicked it during the Turkey Boogie while the valley was full of snow which was really sweet, but the creek crossing was a little chilly.

A close second for me would have to be Jay Leno. (Thanks for taking us out there Clint.)

Of course Welshman's Walk is nice and juicy-low to.

Heck, I guess anything is better than sitting here in the cold snowy midwest right now! ;(

"A little bump to pick 'em up is a great LOW jump, lowest in Moab I believe. 170', great landing area. 6 sec canopy ride if you pick up your feet or 5 sec canopy ride if you don't, Ask Jimmy.

Boulder Rush is one of the best visuals around also, it's 240' and there is a boulder about the size of 2-3 big suv's.

The Torch is also a very over hung wall, it looks like the olympic torch! Still some doubts about how tall this is. It's in Day Canyon.
