Thanks to the hard work of Clint MacBeth and Mike Carpenter, Moab will now have a USPA drop zone!!!! We will have Skydive New England's 182 and be open Fri. Sat and Sun this Winter, with appointments possible during the week. Mostly tandems with all fun jumpers more than welcome! We will have the 182 for the Turkey Boogie, so if you're coming out or bringing a non-BASE but skydiving friend, they can have a bunch of fun too!

Clint here,
Well, it's been a long time since I did my first jump here and I loved it from the start. Last year I was talking about opening a dz in Moab and Vertigo was behind me 100% along with Mike Carpenter(SNE)
and we finally made it happen. IT is going to start off as just a Tandem operation but will be catering to all the swoopers and fun jumpers and hopefully turn it into "Little Norway".
All those exits that you've been wanting to jump but just couldn't get there, well now there will be a way.
Thanksgiving Boogie in Moab will be one to remember this year, if it all goes well, we'll be taking off at Mineral Bottom for the swoopers and fun jumpers.
SKYDIVE MOAB, will be holding a swoop competition sometime in the future!
To jump the most beautiful place in America(MOAB).... Priceless!!
ONce I have more info, I will pass it along to all of you.
If you have any ideas for anything, please email me at
mastaclint@yahoo.com.
I have lots more to post later but for now that's all I can give.
Just found about the very good news 10 days ago.
Stay tuned for more updates and info.
Look foward to seeing everyone soon at SKYDIVE MOAB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Keep the dam Cessnas out of Moab.
Let it remain the beautiful and quiet place that it is.

I am not real partial to SKYDIVERS or skydiving rigs being in Moab. These people seem to be everywhere in our sport and I like Moab just the way it is. If you must have a DZ why does it have to have the association of USPA. Fuk uspa and skydiving in general. just my two cents good luck with the business venture.
have a go way low day

I hear what your saying! USPA, I need it for the insurance purposes.
2) Free advertising for starting up. I don't plan on having it forever just the first couple of yrs. Vertigo has lots of plans also, it's a combined effort, you'll see.
3)were not training skydivers, were doing tandems. That's were the $$$ is.
4)I get to finally settle down in a beautiful place and open up so many more jumps for all BASE jumpers.
The airport is 18miles north of town, not even close to the cliffs.
5) Swooping the cliffs!!!!! #1 reason for me.
With a plane you can scope out everything.
And so much more.
Thanks for your two cents! I need people like you to say what ya feel cause I'm doing it for the base jumpers as well.

What Requirements are there to jump into Mineral Bottom during the Thanksgiving boogie? Also who can swoop the cliffs or is that even possible? What are the costs for the jumps from the plane?

Hey Bob,
As long as you have your B licence you can jump into Mineral Bottom. Swooping the cliffs, You must have 1000 jumps on a High Performance Canopy and it will be my decision overall.
The MB jumps from 5000' is $28 and $35 from 9500'
It's worth every penny! I Guarantee that this jump will be your best ever!!
