Locals kick ass, and sometimes it's the local Non-jumpers. I just wanted to say that I got to hang out with some of the coolest "locals" this past weekend at an undisclosed location. A group had met them on a previous excursion to this site and they were more than friendly and helpful, and on this occasion it was no different. We had planned on jumping all weekend at this site with their approval. They set up a camping area for us in an adjecent field (which was freshly mowed), they gave us an enless supply of hand-split firewood, they even picked up supplies at the nearest grocery store (35 miles) for us for dinner on Saturday night. How cool is that?? One of our new "friends" even had his own climbing harness and promtly followed us part way up the tower :7
They hung out and drank some beer and shot the #### with us on Friday and Saturday night. We learned a lot about the area, the people, the tower, etc. We even found out that this awesome site is about to become even greater :o (sorry can't say what it is:P ) Man, this is the way it should be in BASE jumping!!!!!!
It's unfortunate that this weekends BASE boogie was almost a total wash out (only 7 daytime jumps made) but it really didn't matter too much since we met such cool people and now can plan an even bigger and better boogie for the next time. :7

I'll post some pictures as soon as I get them back!

Hi Jim
the tower was about 300-340ft depending where you exited from. Landing area was not that great, but still do-able. The side we went from we could only do 1 sec. delays to clear the trees. Two second delay are possible on one side but you still have a few trees and some power lines to deal with. So this was NOT a beginer jump, but more of an intermediate/experienced canopy fllight/accuracy jump.
Catch ya later,

PS-let me know if your going to be coming this way or further East so we can maybe make a few together. I just opened up 3 new virgin sites!!
