don't take this stuff too seriously, at least for a while. i work in the nanotech building at Rice U. where these nanotubes were discovered by Rick Smalley, Nobel Chemistry Lauriete (sp), 1996. They've been selling this elevator to space idea for a long time. It's still pretty far off.

Wouldn't want to be on that ladder when a 1200 mph car comes crusing by. It takes me 1 hour to climb 1700' how long will it take me to climb 120,000?
