I've heard that a Brit, currently residing in the US, run into some 'locals' while BASE jumping.
Rumour has it that several shots were fired while decending under canopy.
Apparently this happened somewhere in central Fl.
Input anybody ??

I was at Z Hills 2 days ago and I met someone there who told me a story about that. Some redneck hunters I think. What object was it? I think I'll try to avoid it.

LAST EDITED ON Jan-30-01 AT 07:13 AM (PST)[p]Remember the indignant post from the guy that thought someone had sprayed his base# as grafitti near Moab? Well the number sprayed was not a base number.
The gunshots were probably hunters. There are quite a few around some of the sites in Florida... We're there too. Without guns...

It's hunting season and he was in the country. (<that's a period)
I understand that it's scary for city folk, but rounds fired in the country DOES NOT mean that someone is shooting at you.
I have been shooting since I was a boy. Every person I know that even touched a firearm loves Skydiver's and is in awe of BASE Jumpers. It's the essence of freedom, as you well know. They respect that and have more sense than to aim a firearm at a fellow freedom seeker.
