Just wondering if anyone has heard of anyone jumping the Meteora pillars in Greece?

I spent a couple days there on my way through Greece last winter. From the pictures I had seen I thought it would be a sure thing. I even hooked up with some paraglider pilots who attempted to show me suitable cliffs. Unfortunately contrary to the ancient drawings and photos taken at certain angles the cliffs tend to be underhung enough to prevent flicking. You probally are pondering the most famous rock spire on top of which sits the holy trinity. This wall along with the one directly aross the valley are your best bet. Both are about 270 meters to the valley floor. Although the trinity wall appars to be overhung and is easily accessible, it is actually underhung enough to prevent any exit without some serious repelling(dont know how the monks would feel about that). Across the valley there is a sheer wall of equal size. While this wall provides a better exit it is far less accesable. After a 15 minute car ride and a 30 minnute hike you are confronted with 50 meters of sheer rock requiring some serious climbing gear and skills. If you're cappable of scaleing this it is only a hop, skip, and jump to the exit. If you manage to tag either site you options for landing are slim to nil. Unlike what you may see in some pictures the valley floor is currently covered with a funky kind of bush were the tiny leaf poits are as sharp as thorns. There is a small foot path and a few open patches so your accurecy better be dialed. Either way Meteora is the most beautiful city in Greece, even if you leave your rig at home it is a must see!
