HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!
We were a bit tired after the almost all night rescue on "Mari's Gash", but we all jumped the wall and opened next to Mari's canopy hanging half way up. It looks cool, like a big rainbow colored flag on the wall. Great video! Then a kind gentleman with a 185 took Jill, Clint, Steve and Spike up for a skydive onto the top of "The Sweet Spot" where they packed and jumped. Steve and Gardner left for the nearest airport with Gardner on crutches. It snowed several inches yesterday. Spike and I joined Jill, Clint and Nick for an epic climb and jump from "Mill Creek" last evening and another epic climb and jump from Potash this morning. My foot broke the rock edge on exit, I went really head down and blew a toggle on opening. I had to release the other one to stop the spin and rear riser it onto the center line in the road. slam!!!! My feet are sore. It's been a great holiday week. Spike's off to LA after we do some last minite partying.
ICE COLD BEER ! ! !

I finally jumped a 5'6" site I've been chasing for about 5 years. I would tell you who, but we're not suppossed to name objects.....

5 years??? geeeez... talk about your major access issue...
What is the object like? is it waaaaay overhanging?? or the kind of thing you have to out-track? How was the landing area? was it gnarly or freshly cut? How long a delay did you take? I presume you had no malfunctions. Hopefully it was one of those jumps where you don't have to be concerned about running from security and you were able to bask in the afterglow. Congrats!
Next time I'm in town can I jump it? LOL
Happy New Year, Finally... I'm glad SOMEONE GOT LAID.

Did my 99th on the last day of 1999 and my 100th on the first day of 2000. 99 didn't go as planned, the building that was to be jumped was closed (damn, should have double checked to make sure they were open). Went and did a quick 285 ft. freestander instead. 100 was awesome, with unseasonably warm weather. Exit point... 1600 ft. Did a nice 2-way with BASE 515. And of course I can't deviate from tradition... it was a naked jump!! Thanks to BASE 515, 516, and Shelby for being a part of my jumps!!

A BASE jump was made by myself on a slider-down site near Queenstown, New Zealand; the first BASE site to see the New Milleniun. It was dark and raining, I would have flaired if I could have seen the ground but my MOJO canopy, by Consolidated Rigging, landed me safely.

Myself and a buddy got off a pretty little cliff in AZ. New Years Eve morning. I heard later that same day somebody tried to move the cliff over a bit with their body...luckly the cliff and the jumper I hear will be ok!:}

I need to get in touch with Joe Weber. Could you please forward his email address to jsurber@dlab.com, or let him know that Jim Surber would like to be contacted at that address. Thanks.

You forgot to mention the winds were screaming doing 50 km/h. If I wasn't in Jamaica I would have been there too.
