‘Twas the week before Christmas
and all through the park
not a creature was stirring
it was very near dark
Regina was nestled
In her jeep with damp hair
As she drove ‘cross the bridge
With great skill and due care.
When all of a sudden
What should she hear?
Was a sound that went ‘POOF’
Then a yell and a cheer.
She looked o’er the side
And what did she spy?
But a big parachute,
Underneath, hung a guy
She watched as he drifted
And thought with a shiver
“My gosh he’ll be cold
if he lands in the river”.
“Get me backup” she yelled
calling in to control
then jumped back in her jeep
As it started to roll.
She drove down to the zone
Where she thought he might land
Speeding ‘round all those curves
Just as fast as one can.
She arrived at the jumper
Not a moment to spare
“Stop right where you are”
“put your hands in the air!”
Then the guy turned around
And Regina just stared
He was chubby and jolly
With a beard and white hair.
“Forgive me, dear ranger”
The jolly guy said
“But I’m testing this chute
‘Case I fall from my sled”.
It was then that she realized
This guy was no bandit.
She asked for I.D.
And when he did hand it
‘Kris Kringle’ it read,
With a North Pole address.
Then she almost passed out
This was just too much stress.
Then he packed up his Chute
As his getaway drew near-
A sleigh, Mrs. Claus
And eight tiny reindeer.
As he moved toward the sleigh
He said to the ranger
“care to go for a ride?
There’s really no danger!”
She almost accepted
But then thanked him “NO”
“It’s too close to Christmas-
You really should go!”
As the sled flew away
Santa said with a sneer
“I’ll see YOU in October,
At bridge day next year!!”
MERRY CHRISTMAS, BASERS
HAVE A SAFE 2000!
